Rebecca,
Happy 11th birthday! You have grown so much this year. Your hair is half way down your back and I expect at your doctor's appointment tomorrow to have put on a few inches this year. Your love for life is infectious and you are always in the midst of whatever is happening, for better or worse.
So much has happened since last year, we have listed our home for sale and are making plans to do something unconventional, but you, our unconventional child, remain upbeat and excited about where our adventures will take us. Speaking of adventures you have chosen to go to a Trampoline Park tomorrow for your birthday adventure. You have big plans of flips into foam pits and zip lines. I hope it is all the excitement that you are looking for.
You are certainly a middle child. Not as big as the bigs, but not part of the littles. Yet, you are an enthusiastic part of either group. You read and compare notes with Ruth on her fanfic. You talk video games and Pokemon with Britt. With Kate you play with toys and stuffed animals. While the boys include you in games with their dinosaurs. You are just as comfortably yourself no matter who you are with or where you are.
School continues to be smooth sailing for you. You are a whiz at math and science. You weren't super enthusiastic with Kate's choice of Earth Science this year, but you've done really well with it. History is still a subject that you enjoy as well. DEAR time is still your favorite. You have continued polishing your writing, doing more of your own editing now. You still don't know what you want to be when you grow up, though when asked you are adamant that you want to be a waitress and learn restaurant recipes. We all think you are a little crazy, but with your outgoing and talkative personality who knows you might makes tons in tips.
You bring so much joy to our lives with your laugh and quirkiness. We never know what you will say next and it cracks us up the way your brain thinks. You are growing into a funny, kind, and clever girl, and we are so thankful to be your parents.
Your Daddy and I love you, so very much,
Love,
Momma
